This conceptual project is particularly close to me, as it was developed for my Master’s thesis. The research explored how photography could move beyond documenting architecture and become a tool for analysing, inspiring and shaping urban design.

Focusing on a series of car parks along Fitzwilliam Street in Sheffield, I used photographic collages to study the street’s textures, colours, materials and spatial character. These observations informed the design of an exhibition centre conceived as an ‘Indoor Street’ between the city and an adjacent park. Reflective glass, brick walls and pockets of greenery blur the boundary between inside and outside, allowing the building to capture and respond to the character of its surroundings.
